2022年三月，我抵達花蓮溪出海口旁的舊軍事碉堡，展開為期兩個月的駐村。 每一天我都去海邊散步，坐在礫石海灘上看海，像顆石頭一樣靜靜地待著聆聽海浪，透過石頭錄下大海的聲音。當海如此地靠近⾝體，我才重新意識⾃⼰正活在⼀座島上。（駐村日誌，節錄之一）
In spring 2022, I began a two-month residency in Hualien. On the east coast of Taiwan, facing the Pacific, I stayed in the remains of a military bunker built in the 1970s, near where the Hualien River meets the sea.
“Every day I went to the seaside for a walk, sitting among countless stones, listening to the ocean waves coming from nowhere and everywhere, as if I were a stone living quietly on the beach. I started to record the sound coming from the ocean through stones — the vibrations of ebb and flow, the touch of a boundless body of water, the memories of the earth in rise and fall, the rhythmic breathing in between silence. It was the very first time I listened to the ocean inside stones. With the sea so close to the body, I knew again that I was living on an island.”

偶然得知去年八月日本海底火山「福徳岡ノ場」噴發，大量漂流而來的浮石擱淺在東海岸的礫石灘上。這是我第一次親眼看到浮石：漂浮的石頭，充滿孔隙的身體，他們像是一座一座微小的島嶼。這些充滿孔隙的石頭，讓一些生物死，也讓一些生物活。聽聞捕鰻苗的漁人說，他們常在浮石中看見鰻苗卡在孔隙中死去的身體。浮石的孔隙卻能讓水草棲息，茁壯地生長。（駐村日誌，節錄之二）

stones let some creatures die and let others live. The fishermen who catch glass eels told me they often find the bodies of elvers caught
and dead inside the pores. Yet the same pores let water plants settle, and grow well.”

listening pores: () is an interactive sound installation and a series of porous listening experiments. I record the seawater vibrating inside stone through handmade contact microphones, the pores between and within the stones becoming a filter — the sea heard through stone holds a texture entirely unlike the sea that arrives through air.
Micro speakers are embedded in the stones, and the recordings play back through them in a loop. The stones rest on the ground as they would on a shore, the waves moving among them — they go on vibrating unnoticed until a hand arrives. Once lifted, the pores of both body and stone open as imagined channels for listening.
The gentle movements of seawater are felt and heard through touch — the human body transforms into a resonating chamber, and the subtle distance between palm and stone modulates the filtering, guiding sound through the hidden spaces of the pores.
In this way, listening happens inside the body, and the body flows within the circulation of life, where touch, sound, and resonance intertwine.
〈聆聽孔隙：（ ） listening pores: () 〉透過自製的接觸式麥克風錄下了石頭裡振動的海水，石頭與石頭間的孔隙成為了濾波器（filter)，收錄的海潮聲與空氣作為介質傳至耳中的聲響有著極其不同的質地。將石頭裝置放在手上，兩種身體的孔隙作為聆聽的想像通道，石頭裡振動的海水透過觸摸而再次被聽見──人類的身體成為共鳴箱，手心與石頭的接觸距離調變濾波，聆聽穿梭孔隙之間。(2025)
